As the director of Key Holder Services, I really enjoy calling up our new Key Holders after they first receive the VitalKey. Like a child with a new toy on Christmas, many are excited about actually seeing their medical records for the very first time!

Beyond the joys of my professional experiences, I personally love my VitalKey. As a relatively young man (people tell me 30 is young?) I, thankfully, don’t have a lot of medical conditions that I really need to keep up with. I do, however, have two very young children that I do need to keep up with.

As Key Holders, my wife and I opted for the Family Key. What is so great about the Family Key is that it not only holds all our medical records, it also holds all our kid’s records. Everything from immunizations to allergies, we have all the information we need about our children’s medical history right at our finger tips. With our hectic lives, it is nice to know exactly where this information is whenever we need it.

Now, while having access to up-to-date information is great, one of my favorite features of the family key is the ability to store an Authorization to Treat Minor Release Form. Parents (myself included) often forget to leave a Authorization to Treat Minor form with our sitters or family members when we go on a trip or a date. However, this document is very important in case of an emergency. Giving doctors the permission to perform necessary procedures when you are not readily available is of great importance for parents. Along with needing to give the doctors permission to help your children, the fact of the matter is that the caregiver, whether relative or babysitter, rarely knows the details of your children’s medical conditions. The VitalKey provides everything they would need in an emergency.

Now, when my wife and I have the chance to scoot away for a date night or a weekend away (all too rarely), we can leave one of our VitalKeys with the sitter or grandparents. Now, if there is ever a reason that the kids might have to go to the hospital, the person watching them not only has access to all the medical information (that they would otherwise have no clue about) but they also have a release for that will allow the Doctors to provide any needed medical services for our children.

Convenience and peace of mind!

My wife and I love our VitalKey. More than just a fun gadget (I love gadgets), it is truly an amazing piece of technology that helps us to be better protectors of our greatest treasure… our kids.
